Treat Yo Self Thursday 4/6/14

Treat Yo Self Thursday

At No Money 4 Books, we know that it’s just not possible to buy ourselves every book or bookish item that we’d like, but we should treat ourselves to something once in awhile. Inspired by Parks and Recreation’s Treat Yo Self Day, this is a chance to share what bookish item you treated yourself to this week!  It can be a book you couldn’t wait any longer for, a great deal you just couldn’t pass up, or even reading paraphernalia such as a shiny new e-reader, cool bookmarks, cute reading glasses… nothing’s too small to include on Treat Yo Self Thursday! And if you didn’t Treat Yo Self to something this week – do it now! Please link back to No Money 4 Books in your post and click the frog to upload your post link below.

This week I treated myself to a book I’ve been waiting a long time for:  Into the Still Blue, the conclusion to the trilogy by Veronica Rossi. If you’re a fan a YA dystopian novels, or just scifi/fantasy in general, I would whole-heartedly recommend this series. It’s set in a futuristic world where the environment has become so hostile to humans that they are forced to live in walled cities just to survive. However, not everything is as it should be in these protected cities and when the main character is banished to the outside she finds a very unexpected world. The story has a unique premise and the plot is fast-moving and exciting. Both main and supporting characters are likable and well thought out, and overall the series has been very well-written and enjoyable. I am so glad I treated myself to this series finale and you can be on the lookout for a review soon!
